About this site

I’m Brittany, also affectionately known in virtual spaces as bookish millennial.

This website will house book reviews, musings about reading, libraries, local bookstores, intersectionality, & more, as I recognize that everything is connected.

To gauge your expectations, these are my values:
-anti AI
-anti capitalism & anti fascism
-anti racist
-abolitionist & intersectional feminist
-pro trans, immigrant, brown, Black, queer, science, choice, critical thinking
-free Palestine, Congo, Sudan, all occupied territories… LAND BACK <3
-I do NOT believe safe spaces exist, but I DO encourage brave, hopeful, curious, accountable spaces & call ins
-I am not a perfect ally or activist, but I’m a committed lifelong learner

I lead The Diverse Baseline reading challengeBookish Millennials Book Club (hosted on Storygraph, we meet via video call on Discord), Steamy Lit Reading Rainbow Book Club (Zoom), & SF Bay Area chapter of Cassie’s Walking Club.

I have curated book rec lists on Bookshop.org & Libro.fm. I have mutual aid lists, & this is all in my linktree.

I’m Filipina, Chinese, bi, demi, neurodivergent, chronically ill, & an insufferable Virgo & dog mom. I lean towards unpacking nuance, abandoning binaries, seeking understanding, & holding onto hope.

Consuming media doesn’t help me “escape” the world, but it sure does help me live in & make sense of it.

Above all, I’m happy you’re reading or curious about reading. We need more humans intentionally engaging with their media, which has larger implications about how we engage with everything else. I’m rooting for us baby!

I’m glad you’re here, not just on my website, but on Earth, because I recognize it’s a hard place to be. I’m always rooting for us.

Thank you for subscribing & following along.

Let’s keep connecting <3
